About Hindustan University (HITS) – Chennai
Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), popularly known as Hindustan University, is a leading private deemed university located at Padur, Kelambakkam, along the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) — Chennai's primary IT corridor. Established in 1985 by K.C.G. Verghese, it was granted Deemed University status by UGC in 2008.
Accredited with NAAC A+ Grade and ranked in the NIRF 101–150 band for Engineering and University, HITS features in the QS Asia University Rankings (751–850). The 150-acre campus offers 150+ programmes across Engineering, Management, Architecture, Design, Law, Science, Allied Health Sciences and Pharmacy.
